We are a Chicago nonprofit providing transitional and permanent housing solutions for returning citizens.

RCHD: Built by us, for us, and with us.

RCHD is dedicated to providing reentry support services that include but are not limited to:

  • Employment readiness, legal aid navigation, and mental health access

  • Advocacy around housing equity, reentry justice, and community inclusion; and

  • Operating programs that reduce recidivism and strengthen families and neighborhoods.

Mission Statement

RCHD ignites hope and empowers seniors and middle-aged adults reentering society after long prison sentences. Through advocacy, essential resources, and dedicated support, we break down barriers and promote successful reintegration, building strong and inclusive communities for all.

Our Vision

We envision a Chicago where seniors and middle-aged adults reentering society after incarceration receive the support they need to overcome unique challenges. By ensuring access to resources and opportunities, we aim to create a compassionate community that values their experiences and promotes a sense of belonging.

Values

Dignity: Every person deserves respect and a second chance.

Housing: Stable housing is the foundation for successful reentry and reintegration.

Opportunity: Access to education, employment, and supportive networks is essential for long-term stability.

Community: Collaboration with faith-based, civic, and nonprofit partners ensures inclusive, effective reentry support.
